Soldier Transition

Transition and Veterans Employment Support

Feeling overwhelmed about leaving the military and jumping into a civilian career?

That’s normal – but we have the resources and programs to help veterans and transitioning service members succeed. Whether you're looking for job training, employment opportunities, or career coaching, Employment Readiness and other military transition programs provide the support you need.

Career Support for Transitioning Service Members

If you're leaving the military, start planning early. The Transition Assistance Program (TAP) and other DoW programs help you explore career options, gain certifications, and connect with employers before separation.

Check out these key programs for transitioning service members:

Federal Government Job Opportunities for Veterans

Many federal agencies and government contractors prioritize hiring veterans. Veterans may be eligible for Veterans' Preference, which gives them priority consideration for federal jobs.
