Sewing Class for Beginners - August

Unleash your inner crafter and learn a valuable, creative new skill! Whether you have never touched a sewing machine before or are looking to refresh your basic skills, join us at the Arts & Crafts Center for a fun, creative evening designed entirely for complete beginners.

Bring a friend and enjoy a crafty-filled night out! With the guidance of an expert instructor, you will learn the basics of sewing and piece together your very own beginner-friendly mini quilt wall hanging featuring a beautiful sea turtle design. Click here for a printable event flyer!

What You’ll Create

Our step-by-step instruction makes sewing easy and stress-free. In this class, you will learn how to:

• Handle fabric and follow a simple beginner pattern.

• Assemble blocks and sew straight seams.

• Create a gorgeous mini quilt wall hanging that you can proudly display at home!

Fabric & Supplies: What to Bring

To make your mini quilt, please bring the following fat quarters with you to class:

• 3 Blue fat quarters

• 2 Tan fat quarters

• 1 Brown fat quarter

• 1 Green fat quarter

Sewing Machines & Tools:

• Bring Your Own: If you have your own sewing machine and sewing supplies, please bring them! It is a wonderful opportunity to practice on the machine you will use at home.

• Borrow Ours: If you do not own a sewing machine, don't worry! A limited number of sewing machines are available for use at the Arts & Crafts Center on a first-come, first-served basis.
