New Parent Support Program

The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) promotes healthy Families through a variety of services including home visits, support groups, and parenting classes. We help Soldiers and Families learn to cope with stress, isolation, post-deployment reunions, and the everyday demands of parenthood. Army Families who are expecting a child or who have children up to age three can participate in our services confidentially and free of charge.

Each installation has developed unique New Parent Support Program services that include:

  • Home visits: Provide opportunities to learn about infant care, breastfeeding, home safety, and infant and child development. Home visits are provided by licensed nurses and social workers especially trained to understand the special needs of military Families.
  • Expectant Parent Services: Referral services to local childbirth preparation classes, prenatal information, childbirth education and breastfeeding education. Videos and books are also available to check-out.
  • Parenting Classes and Workshops: Please contact Army Community Service (ACS)/NPSP at +1 (334)255-9647 or +1 (334)255-3359 to inquire about available parenting classes and workshops being conducted.
Play Groups

The Play Groups provide programs and activities that enhance parent-child interactions and stimulate child growth and development. Registration is required, please call +1 (334) 255-9647 or +1 (334) 255-3359 for further information.
