The New Parent Support Program (NPSP) promotes healthy Families through a variety of services including home visits, support groups, and parenting classes. We help Soldiers and Families learn to cope with stress, isolation, post-deployment reunions, and the everyday demands of parenthood. Army Families who are expecting a child or who have children up to age three can participate in our services confidentially and free of charge.

Each installation has developed unique New Parent Support Program services that include:

  • Comprehensive Support: Provides holistic support to expectant parents and families with children up to 35 months old, encompassing pregnancy through early childhood.

  • Home Visiting Program: Offers in-home visits (1-2 times monthly) with trained staff providing education, safety assessments, and individualized support based on an evidence-based curriculum.
  • Risk Screening & Referral: Conducts regular risk screenings to identify potential challenges (postpartum depression, developmental delays) and connects families with appropriate resources.
  • Parent Education: Delivers education on crucial topics including safety, self-care, child development, and protective factors to promote positive parenting and healthy family dynamics.
  • Empowerment & Well-being: Empowers parents to provide the best possible care for their children while fostering family well-being and strengthening the military community.
  • Parenting Classes and Workshops: Please contact Army Community Service (ACS)/NPSP at +1 (334)255-9647 or +1 (334)255-3359 to inquire about available parenting classes and workshops being conducted.
