Let's Chalk About Domestic Violence: A Community Chalk Art Contest

Join the conversation and help spread a powerful message of support! In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), we invite the entire Fort Rucker community to participate in our annual "Let's Chalk About Domestic Violence" Chalk Art Contest.

This installation-wide event is a creative and impactful way to raise awareness about domestic abuse and show that our community respects, supports, and defends victims. Grab some chalk and let your artistic talents shine for a vital cause. Click here for a printable event flyer!

Event Details:

  • Contest Date: Tuesday, October 20, 2026

  • Location: Installation-Wide (Create your art at your home, office, or center!)

  • Cost: No Entry Fee!

How to Participate:

This event is open to everyone! We encourage all military personnel, families, programs, child/youth centers, and installation agencies to get involved.

  1. Create Your Masterpiece: Design and create your chalk art at your location. (Note: Chalk is not provided).

  2. Get Judged:

    • In-Person Visit: To secure your spot for an in-person visit from the judges on the day of the event, please email RUCKERFAP@gmail.com.

    • Photo Submission: If you are not available during the judging time frame, simply email pictures of your chalk art, along with information about your team/unit, to RUCKERFAP@gmail.com.

Judging & Awards:

  • Judging Window: The Chalk Contest Judging will take place on October 20th from 1300-1530.

  • Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

    • Military

    • Civilian Staff/Programs

    • Child/Youth Programs

  • Winner Announcement: Winners will be announced in person with the Garrison Command Team on Thursday, October 22nd, between 0900-1100.
