Grab the Family and Tell a Friend that Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Friday December 3rd on Fort Rucker!

Don’t miss all of the holiday festivities at the 1st Annual Fort Rucker Winterfest Friday December 3rd from 1630 until 2200 at the Fort Rucker Festival Fields! The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting begins at 1700 to signal Santa Claus that Fort Rucker is ready for Christmas! There will be Live Entertainment by the Sonnenschein Express Band, Ice Skating, a life size Christmas card contest, Trees for Troops will be on-site, Fire Pits for S’mores, Food, Craft and Merchandise Vendors…and of course, there will be a “Special” visitor from the North Pole joining in the celebration. Come out and enjoy all of the holiday festivities Friday December 3rd at Winterfest!

Ice Skating

Ice Skating will be $10 and tickets will be sold at the rink booth on-site at the event, skates are included but make sure you bring your own socks.

Ice Skating will begin at 1700 and new sessions will start every half hour on the hour. Last Session will be at 2130. 

Fire Pit & S’mores

Reserve your time slot in advance. Limited time slots are available.

Stop By the Leisure Travel Office (inside the center library) to Reserve Your Time Slot 334-255-2997 

Any additional time slots that are left will be available for purchase on-site at the event

Kits are $40  NOW ONLY $25 - covers a family of 6 and reserves their time slot

Kits Include; marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate, roasting sticks, and wipes

Sessions are 45 minutes each and begin at 1700. Last session will be at 2110.

Christmas Card Contest

Each Display will consist of 1 to 2 4X8 sheets of plywood that opens like a holiday card, and should be painted or decorated on each side.

All displays will indicate the unit/office/ group or agency that created it.

Displays may be lighted and powered by solar or small C or D batteries; no automotive batteries or generators.

The entries will be judged by the public on the MWR Facebook page from December 3rd – 8th, and winners will be announced on December 10th on the MWR Facebook page.

Any cards placed after December 3rd will not qualify for judging. Last day to sign up is November 30th

Trees For Troops 

Come pick up your Free Christmas Tree at Winterfest.                                                                Trees for Troops witrees website temp.jpgll be on-site for Military families and personnel that are in need  of a tree this year.

Active Duty Pick up: 1700-1900

DOD ID Card Holders, Retirees, & Military Family Members: 1900-2100

While Supplies Last, Must Show ID Card, One Tree per family

Traffic & Site Map

Winterfest is Friday from 4:30-10 p.m. at the Fort Rucker Festival Fields! Parking will be available in three areas near the event area. Ruf and Mayfield avenues will remain open during the event to allow access to post.
