Official Terms & Conditions: DFMWR NAF Property Sale

Before participating in the upcoming Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) NAF Property Sale on November 6th and 7th, please review the official terms and conditions governing all purchases and bids below.

All items offered in this sale are available through either fixed prices or sealed bids. By bidding or purchasing, buyers agree to abide by the following rules:

1. Condition of Items & Inspection

  • Sold "AS IS": All items are offered for sale strictly in "AS IS" condition. DFMWR makes no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the condition or usability of any item.

  • No Adjustments: No requests for price adjustments or revisions of any sale will be considered after purchase.

  • Inspection Strongly Encouraged: Buyers are urged and cautioned to personally inspect any items they are interested in prior to purchasing or submitting a bid.

2. Bidding Rules (Sealed Bids)

  • In-Person Submission Only: All bids must be submitted in person at the sale locations during official sale hours:

    • Friday, November 6: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM

    • Saturday, November 7: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

  • Notification: The highest bidder for each item will be contacted by phone on Monday, November 9th.

  • 24-Hour Response Window: Successful bidders must respond within 24 hours of being notified. Failure to respond within this window will forfeit your bid, and the item will be offered to the next highest bidder.

  • Tied Bids: In the event of a tie, both high bidders will be notified and given 12 hours to submit their best and final bid.

  • Minimum Bids: Sealed bid items have a designated minimum bid amount. Please consult the official bid sheet on-site.

3. Payment Terms

  • Accepted Methods: All payments must be made in full using cash or credit card to DFMWR.

  • Removal Clearance: Full payment must be processed before any property is approved for removal. No merchandise will be held without payment.

4. Removal of Property & Forfeiture Deadlines

  • Buyer Responsibility: Buyers are solely responsible for the safe loading, securing, and removal of their purchased items. DFMWR is not responsible for any merchandise once payment is made.

  • Damage Liability: The buyer/highest bidder will be held liable for any damages to Government property that occur while moving their purchased items.

  • Removal Deadline: If you do not remove your items during the active sale days, you must schedule a pickup time. All items must be completely removed before 12:00 PM (Noon) on Friday, November 13th.

  • Forfeiture Policy: Any items not picked up by the noon deadline on Friday, November 13th (or by your scheduled pickup time) will be strictly forfeited along with your payment.

ALL ITEMS SOLD AS IS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

 

Guide to Bidding: How to Participate in the NAF Property Sale

The upcoming DFMWR NAF Property Sale features both fixed-price items and sealed-bid items. If you are interested in purchasing an item designated for sealed bidding, please follow the simple steps below to submit your offer.

Our staff is on-site to help you through the process, but here is a quick guide on how to place a bid.

Step-by-Step Bidding Process

  1. Fill Out a Bid Form: Complete one sealed bid form per item you wish to bid on.

  2. Submit Your Bid: Take your completed bid form to the on-site payment table to submit it.

  3. Bid Securing: Once submitted, DFMWR staff will securely hold all bid forms until the bidding window officially closes.

  4. Bidding Window Closes: The bidding period for all items ends on Saturday, November 7th at 12:00 PM (Noon).

What is a "Sealed Bid"?

If you are new to this process, a sealed bid refers to a written offer that is placed in a closed envelope. These bids are kept secure and are not opened until the official close of the sale. At that time, all bids for an item are opened together, and the highest eligible bidder is chosen and notified.

After the Sale: Winners & Pickup

  • Notification: The highest bidder for each item will receive a call from the DFMWR staff on Monday, November 9th.

  • Item Pickup: If you are the winning bidder, please be prepared to pay for and pick up your items no later than Friday, November 13th at 12:00 PM (Noon).

Buying Fixed-Price Items

Not all items require a bid! Any items in the sale that are marked with a fixed price instead of a bidding sheet can be purchased and taken home immediately during sale hours.
