On Saturday, May 12 the Fort Rucker Physical Fitness Center will be hosting the annual Fort Rucker Army 10 Mile Run Off and Team Relay at the Fort Rucker Physical Fitness Center on Andrews Ave beginning at 7:00 am. Race day registration/packet pick-up begins at 6:00 am and ends at 6:45 am. Pre-registration packet pick up on Friday, May 11 from 3:00 pm -5:00 pm at the Fortenberry-Colton PFC.
Interested active-duty participants may request information about representing Fort Rucker at the Army 10 Miler in Washington, D.C. Individuals may compete as a part of ONE team and one team only. Individuals may run more than one leg for their team. If an individual wishes to run the entire 10 mile race but also complete as a member of a team they may do so. That individual must run the opening leg for their team, hand off the baton and continue to complete the 10 mile race as an individual. All relay team members must arrive by 6:15 am in order to be briefed and transported by bus to hand-off zones. First pre-registered 100 competitors will receive a T-shirt. Trophies will be awarded to Overall Female and Overall Male race Winners, 2nd thru 10th place male & female finishers, 1st, 2nd, 3rd place relay teams. Refreshments will be provided at the finish line.
Race Course: (out and back course)
The race will begin on the track behind the Fort Rucker PFC. Exit the track turn right onto Gladiator and 3rd Ave. The runners will advance towards the Daleville gate, and turn left on Raider, take the first right, left on Quartermaster, right on Dilly Branch, right on Pet Cemetery, left on Dilly Branch, slight left on Engineer and then right on Dilly Branch toward Knox field. Continue around Knox field to Hatch Rd. Right on Hatch to the 5 mile turnaround point. The route is clearly marked with signs and arrows.
Pre-registration fee is $20 by May 6. On May 7th and up to race day, entry fee is $25. No T-shirt option fee is $15. Teams of 5 people pay $60 ($12.00 per team member). All teams must pay total amount at one time. All pre-registered competitors will receive a T-shirt. Race Day, May 12, all teams are $75. ($15 per team member). T-shirts are $15 when purchased without a race entry. Registration forms will be at both the Fortenberry-Colton Physical Fitness Center and the Fort Rucker Physical Fitness Center, MWR Central and also available to print off on the MWR website: http://rucker.armymwr.com. Entry forms can be processed and paid for (with cash, check or credit card) at either Physical Fitness Center or MWR Central located at Bldg 5700.
